The London Underground would be the last place you’d want to enjoy a meal, but the increasing number of secret underground culinary gatherings in the City are definitely where we would like to while away the hours…

The new way to eat out in London is to eat at ‘home restaurants’. We’re talking about exclusive monthly supper clubs like Green Onions which sends invitations to secret picnics and dinners on Facebook; intimate gatherings in funky flats to savour unique changing menus, like The Secret Ingredient (pictured); and pop-up projects like The Pale Blue Door, run by set designer Tony Hornecker who creates a regular restaurant/cabaret installation in his studio home in Dalston and spreads word through his blog.
