The 19th London Latin American Film Festival is coming to the idyllic setting of Hammersmith’s Riverside Studios (6th-11th November) and promises to be as lively and dynamic as ever.
Riverside Studios is a prestigious setting, famous for being the venue where programmes such as 90’s classic TFI Friday and, more recently, the BBC’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired, have been shot. It’s well known for its sociable vibe, and audiences, after watching a film, can enjoy a glass of wine at the bar,(with its vistas of the River Thames) and browse among the Festival’s art exhibitions.
Films from Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Cuba, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil as well as the UK and USA will be screened and there will be plenty more unmissable parties, special events, talks and Q&As with directors to get involved in.
On the bill will be feature-length movies, shorts and documentaries, many of which would never be seen by UK cinema-goers without the Festival’s intervention. Plus, if you want to keep your finger on the pulse of who’s who in Latin American filmmaking, the festival is at the cutting-edge, with its reputation as a meeting place and showcase for new, raw talent.
This festival gives a broad and in-depth picture of societies and cultures from all over Latin America, bringing awareness to the United Kingdom public that would otherwise be very hard to achieve.
Venues: From 6th-11th November at Riverside Studios, Crisp Road, Hammersmith, London W6 6RL before moving on to other London venues for the last weekend (12th-15th November).
