London's Loo Life
If you have just suffered yet another boring weekend, you should have considered simply going to the loo.
Yes, you read that right. London’s latest, hottest night spot is actually an old public toilet – and a fabulous one at that!
CellarDoor is located literally right beneath the Aldwych and has transformed what was once a dingy public restroom into an exclusive and retro hang out. The style is ’1930s Berlin meets New York basement dive’ – the perfect mix of class and sleaze (you are in an old toilet after all). The club also proudly offers a variety of snuff to tie in with the 1930s theme, but bear in mind that this is one toilet that turns its nose up at any illegal substances.
There is live music on offer every night alongside the UK’s first ever SMS jukebox – no DJ required. The venue is also incredibly exclusive – even as a toilet it was frequented by the who’s-who of London’s theatre world, Wilde, Orton and Gielgud – and now it can only take up to 60 people at a time. The cocktails are also on special before 8pm, so it pays to get there early.
You all know how we hate queuing for the loo anyway.
